Black K.A.R.E. – Bergen County Chapter of
The Links, Incorporated
About Black K.A.R.E.

Black K.A.R.E. (Kidney Awareness, Resources & Education) is a national health equity initiative dedicated to improving kidney health outcomes in the Black community. The Bergen County Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, proudly supports this mission by providing culturally relevant education, early-detection opportunities, and community-centered outreach.
Kidney disease disproportionately affects African Americans, who are nearly four times more likely to develop kidney failure. Through Black K.A.R.E., our chapter works to close this gap by empowering individuals with knowledge, tools, and access to preventive care.
Our Mission
The Bergen County Chapter is committed to:
-
Increasing awareness of kidney disease risk factors
-
Promoting early detection through education and screening
-
Supporting healthier lifestyle choices within our community
-
Partnering with trusted medical and community organizations
-
Reducing disparities in kidney health outcomes
Our work aligns with The Links, Incorporated’s national focus on Health & Human Services, advancing wellness and equity for Black families.
